After nearly four months since holding early elections, the country's highest legal institution is still not fully functional. Parliamentary groups, in addition to the division of the commissions, have failed to propose the names of chairmans of the commissions, deputy speakers and their members. The formation of parliamentary commissions as the working troops of the Assembly is a prerequisite for functioning this institution.
On the other hand, the Parliament's Headship has not been engaged in accelerating this important process.
The launch of the campaign for local elections has prompted political parties to navigate in the campaign by completely bypassing work in the Assembly. Many of the Parliament's deputies are also candidates for mayors, while others have taken certain roles in political party election headquarters. The existing situation is adapting to all parliamentary political parties, so deliberate neglect is being taken.
Lack of exercising the role of the Parliament has already caused much damage, some of which can only be cited with a fully functional and dynamic framework. Therefore, the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) requires parliamentary political parties to balance their time for electoral campaign with the duties and responsibilities they have in the country, function in this institution and strive to work committedly for the good of citizens.
