The Tornado has crossed the Caribbean and is soon expected to reach the state of Florida, US officials say.
With strong winds of some 500 miles [290 km] an hour, Hurricane Irma was in the size of France's territory and passing through small islands, destroying everything.
The hurricane's winds had been slightly reduced until they touched the large islands of the Dominican Republic, yet this hurricane is still at its highest level in the fifth category.
Until the mighty storm is expected to reach Florida, millions of people are preparing themselves, some packing in their cars, and the rest of them reserve flights abroad.
US President Donald Trump has called on American citizens “to be alert and cautious of”, until one of his properties on St. Martin's island was destroyed by the hurricane.
