Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said Pristina claim they had enough votes for U n NESTO, it's a big lie.
“On all meetings that the president and I have had, this theme has also been discussed, said Dacic, who is in New York as part of the Serbian delegation, led by Aleksandar Vuciq, attending the UN General Assembly, writes Beta.
According to Beta, the minister said Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli, who made the request earlier in the day, and Kosovo President Hashim Thaci will be lost in U. NESTO, like they did two years ago.
“A large number of our friends not only have an unchanged position in the opposite direction (Pristina Forum), but many countries have changed their position in a positive direction for Serbia, which is valid for countries that abstained (in 2015) against Kosovo's accession to the U NESTO, “said Dacic.
He added that Pristina, if it wants U NESTO should decide on its bid this year, it should apply by mid-October. U General Conference NESTO will then be held in November and next in 2019.
There's been no shaking until now that they're going to be joined, I think they're afraid to lose. I do not recommend them submit their candidacy”, Dacic concluded.
In a statement to the Belgrade-based daily Blic, Ivica Dacic said Kosovo would lose the battle every time it comes to joining the U. NESTO.
“They lost at the conference in Paris (in 2015), they will be lost now and every time,” said Dacic commenting on Pacolli's statement.
“They don't have enough (vota) for U n NCO, Pacolli thinks he can solve everything with money, but it's not like that, we won two years ago, even though the strongest seats were backed by”, Dacic said.
He recalled that about 30 foreign ministry diplomats have been lobbied and added there is no chance that Pristina will get enough votes.
