Over 500 thousand Muslims of Arakan have taken refuge in Bangladesh

High Commissioner for Refugees' spokeswoman to the United Nations Organisation (UNHCR), Duniya Aslam Khan, in a statement to AA, said the number of Arakan Muslims in camps and temporary centres in the vicinity of the Bangladesh town of Coxés Baser has reached 501 thousand.
While International Organisation of Migration spokesman (IOM), Joel Milman, on September 26th in a statement to AA had stressed that the number of Muslims sheltered in Bangladesh has reached 480 thousand.
Meanwhile, High Commissioner for Refugees to the UN Philippo Grandi, who stayed in the camps in Bangladesh at a press conference yesterday at the UN Office in Geneva, said that “I can say that the violence these people (Aracan Muslims) have faced is unique.
