The Paris agreement, signed between Britain on one side, France, Spain, and the United States of America on the other, ended the American Revolution.
On the basis of the Treaty's provisions, Britain acknowledged the independence of the United States, which guaranteed extensive land borders.
The Treaty also allowed American fishermen to enter the rich fish regions near the coast of Newfoundland freely.
In turn, the US government agreed to pay British citizens the pre-war private US debts.
In addition, the Continental Congress agreed to demand the states to treat well the British citizens still in America. The United States ratified the Paris Agreement in January 1784.
