While Turkish capital has opened with dozens of major shopping centres in Skopje, where thousands of Macedonians work, the only investments in Albanian areas are the construction of Ottoman-style mosques.
At the last meeting between Culture Minister Elizabeta Milevska and Turkish Ambassador to Skopje Tulin Erkal has been talking about cultural projects between the two countries.
The meeting discussed deepening ties between the cultural institutions of the two countries, citing with special emphasis the construction of a modern theatre in Skopje, Konica writes. al
On the other hand, Turkey's so-called Religious Affairs Foundation has warned of building a large mosque in Skopje.
This Ottoman-looking religious facility will be built in Skopje's Fushesh-Tophane. This large complex will be similar to the Mihhimah Sultan mosque in Istanbul and the Kojattepe mosque in Ankara.
