That's how much time you have left to forgive your old debts.

Kosovo's Tax Administration has announced that there is only a short time left for citizens to profit from paying off old public debts.

ATK has made it known that all the physical and legal persons in debt to ATK since December 31st 2008 could be forgiven their debt by September 1st this year, it broadcasts Indesksonline.

If full payment is not paid, such persons can link agreements with the Kosovo Tax Administration by September 1st 2017, for paying debts in installments for January 01st 2009 through December 31, 2014. In the case when the agreement is reached, these persons, in addition to the total debt apology for the period until December 31st 2008, will benefit from the pardon of penalties for the January 01st 2009 period until December 31st, 2014”, the ATK report said.

Less time left to take advantage of debt write-off to Kosovo Tax Administration

Kosovo Tax Administration is implementing Law No. 05L-043 complete with Law No.05. L-0119 for the pardon of Public Debt. This Law is only in force until September 01th 2017, so subjects that can benefit from the pardoning of public debts under this Law can only accomplish that date.

All the physical and legal persons who owe ATK until December 31st 2008 can benefit from the debt's pardon if they meet the criteria and submit to the pre-accession procedures by ATK for pardoning these debts.

The Kosovo Tax Administration has identified all persons who have unremarked obligations and who can benefit from public debt forgiveness for the period until December 31st, 2008.

From pardoning public debts for the period until December 31st 2008, the Law benefits all persons who have unremarked obligations to the Kosovo Tax Administration, provided the same -- fulfil the full payment of obligations for the period from January 01th 2009 to December 31, 2014. Full pay in office can be made by September 1, 2017.

Such individuals, in addition to the overall debt apology for the period until December 31st 2008, will benefit from the forgiveness of fines, penalties, interest and any other obligation stemming from no payment due time of basic debt for the period 01 January 2009 to December 31, 2014.

If full payment is not done, such people can link agreements with the Kosovo Tax Administration by September 1, 2017, for paying debts in installments for January 01th 2009 through December 31st 2014. In the event when the agreement is reached, these persons, in addition to the overall debt apology for the period until December 31st 2008, will benefit even with forgiveness of penalties for January 01st 2009 to December 31, 2014.

Those who link agreements and do not respect the terms of the agreement, the Kosovo Tax Administration, will decide on the list of debts, making them responsible for all remaining debts in accordance with legal requirements that have been applicable before the agreement is binding.

Unremarked debts until December 31st 2008, where the total amount of basic debt is in small value of 1 to 100 euros, automatically hide.

The requirement for participation in the programme for pardoning public debt can be found in the relevant regional office of the Kosovo Tax Administration.
