Freedom to travel to the Schengen area will be limited to Albanians following the influx of asylum applications to EU countries.
Several countries urged the Albanian state to step up measures against asylum seekers, so only today in Rinas have a total of 39 Albanian citizens been detained, refusing to travel to Schengen countries.
Citizens were detained after police had suspected they would cross the border to seek asylum in one of the EU countries.
Likewise, during these days, 5 citizens have been arrested, as well as prosecuted in a free state of 4 others, for criminal work.

Special attention also in terms of the identity and deadlock of those citizens aimed at seeking asylum in France and other EU member states” informed state police today.
According to police, there has been a huge influx of movement this month.
“During August, 27345 Albanian citizens have entered Albania, as well as 35918 foreign nationals. Only 2032 Albanian citizens have emerged, as have 26886 foreign nationals. Germany is exercising strict controls on Albanians travelling to this country by not allowing asylum seekers. 10 Albanians are forbidden to enter Germany illegally by federal police. It's about two families traveling on a minibus on the highway, near the Rotal-Ost when police are checked, writes German portal plus.pnp.de, the Oranews reports.
They have shown Albanian passports. Document control has revealed that the driver and his associate had previously been convicted of forging documents and trafficking foreigners in Germany. When asked about the purpose of staying in Germany they have given conflicting statements.
After questioning the purpose of travel and stay in Germany, they fell contrary to their statements.
