RTK cut budget

The Ministry of Finance for July and August has allocated over 300 thousand euros less for Kosovo's public broadcaster.

Such a situation has prompted the response of Public Television General Manager Mentor Shala, under whom the lack of budget can bring trouble within the medium he leads.

The last several months, for July and August, we have faced an extremely serious situation like RTK because of the accommodation, as planned by finance ministers in RTK. I mean, it's about 300 grand just these two months with a few minutes of service from the Ministry, and that's what's causing us a huge amount of trouble to get”, Shala said.

Moreover, according to him, the way this minister shares money for RTK, it's illegal.

“The networks are now adopted every month and by law is seen as every three months as seen by law as we have planned. RTK has been introduced to a commitment based on the planning behind it and now we are in a situation that can produce a possible crisis in the absence of financial means...”, RTK's director said further.

But, in the Ministry of Finance, they declare that for this matter RTK should seek answers in the Kosovo Assembly.

In a brief email response, they say the Assembly has been clarified by the Treasure by a letter regarding the allocation of budgetary means for RTK. (RTK)
