Although he has not mentioned what states will recognise Kosovo, Demaj says recognitions will come from African states.
The acting minister estimates Kosovo has lacked recognition even because institutions have focused on lobbies as far as membership in international organisations is concerned. But Demaj himself, for Online Economy, has confirmed that this year they have not applied for membership in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
The states that will recognize us are African states and I believe there will be recognition very soon, but as regards the neglect that is being said to have been neglect and has not been lounged for recognition. Kosovo is going through different processes, as is the case of INTERPOL, but we have not left the issue of recognitions at any time neglected, Demaj said.
Demaj has praised his predecessor's work, former Minister Enver Hoxhaj.
There was no recognition this year, Minister Hoxhaj has lobbied enough in many states. Also, this year there are also expected to be new recognitions, to say it's really coming by reducing the number of states that have not recognised us”, he said.
Kosovo has accepted the recent recognition in March of this year from Bangladesh. So far, Kosovo has been recognised by 114 states.
