Rainfall has given them many fires that were active in Macedonia. Including the fire in Kondovo that spread rapidly in the late hours.
The fire did not touch down to the homes of the inhabitants of this village, yet it posed a danger to them. According to them, the fire was less active, but, as they say, the delay of intervention on the part of institutions caused the fire to spread even more.
“Institutions came, but they were recently deported. If they had been exiled before there was wind, exiled in time, the fire wouldn't have spread that much. But today, thanks to the rain, the fire died out, and now the state is well”, said Nuri Sadiki, resident. We got really scared, but thanks for getting out of here. There was no firehouse. And today it's all gone because of rain”, said Sefedin Alim, resident.
From the Crisis Management Centre reports that fire on the village of Kondovo had been located several days earlier, while yesterday it was activated again. However, the powerful wind affected the spread of the fire by destroying several acres of pine forest. By the information we had last night, there was fire, but less active and was interfering since 1300.
But the wind that appeared in the late hours caused a complementary problem and came to the spread of the fire, but immediately teams were sent to intervene”, Nadica Vckova, from QPC, said. QPC claims that to extinguish the fire were operating with 4 tankers, 25 firemen, nine firemen's cars, four cars with 20 people from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue and 50 people from the local community, but that machine has been insufficient to extinguish the fire.
