Washington could launch a military operation that would allow the US Army to launch air strikes against Daesh's positions in the Philippines, media “reported. NBC”, citing two defence officials.
According to the media broadcaster's Monday report “NBC”, the plan to launch the operation, which is currently under review by the US Department of Defence, could be announced later in the day.
The media in question also noted that air strikes are likely to be carried out by the drone.
In the event of the plan, American military will be authorised to attack militants who threaten US allies in the region, including the Philippines's armed forces that are fighting Daesh terrorist groups.
Also “NBC” quoted Pentagon spokesman Jeff Davis as saying that Washington and Manila (the capital of Philippi) have destroyed longtime intelligence members for 15 years to step up anti-terrorism efforts, Periscopi broadcasts.
At the end of July, the United States supplied the Philippines with two new jets “Cesna 208B Grand Caravan” intelligence, surveillance and detection (ISR), 1,040 rocket engines and 992 missiles to fight terror. In addition, Manila is expected to receive 250 weapons rockets from Washington./Periscopi/
