The Pentagon has confirmed that two American soldiers were killed by a car bomb attack against a convoy near NATO troops in the city of Kandahar, Afghanistan.
U.S. Army spokesman, Captain Jeff David, has confirmed for two deaths but has not given details about how many other soldiers have been injured or about their nationalities.
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack, saying they have killed 15 NATO soldiers.
Afghan officials have said the bomb car exploded in Kandahar's Daman area,
There are currently 13,500 soldiers of the United States and NATO in Afghanistan.
The US administration is in the process of deploying whether it will send additional troops to this country to fight the Taliban militants.
