Nor is the second week of August expected to find Kosovo with new institutions. Political parties are barricaded behind their strategic positions, which will drag the institutional blockade indefinitely. For analysts now only new elections make sense
The meeting of parliamentary leaders on Wednesday is not expected to produce anything concrete to unblock the political situation in the country. Politicians see no light at the end of the tunnel and warn procrastination of the situation. PDK Headship member Xhavit Haliti has told the newspaper “Zeri” that it remains only a desire to establish institutions this week, as it is currently not looking at any light at the end of the tunnel. “I don't see solutions to the situation because the votes are halved”, Haliti said.
Meanwhile, the two other political blocs in the country -- the “Movement” and the LAA coalition -- have only one requirement for election winners. “to attend session and propose their candidate”. And these “word games” Kosovar analysts estimate they have completely lost the sense of the institutional consolidation process. According to them, a tense situation has been created, and new elections, together with local ones, would be an option of exiting the current situation.
