There are four months ahead of the law to limit imports of vehicles to up to 10 years old, where a large influx of imports of used vehicles has begun.
The current data speaks of a significant increase in the import of these used vehicles compared to the same period in previous years.
From January to today, 17,000 used cars have been imported to Kosovo, with a total of 18m euros being poured out in the state budget.
Adriatic Customs spokesperson Stavileci, in a proposal for Indexline, has indicated that due to the law's entry into force for stopping the import of cars older than 10 years, an increase of this import has been seen in the first months of this year.
The number of vehicles used so far is approximately 17,000 pieces, until their value is about 80m euros. Over the past few months, we have seen an increase in import of cars used”, he said.
As far as Kosovo's favourite interiors are concerned, German companies' cars dominate over 60 %s.
“As far as automotive import interiors dominate German frogs with over 60 % of the market where even in the German wombs it leads Volswagen by about 40% of all vehicles, then it's Opel, Mercedes and BMW”, Stevilec concluded.
