Scandal in Croatia during the match between Dinamo Zagreb and Skenderbeu. One of the sports commentators on Croatian national television HRT, Stjepan Balog, has issued no pleasant phrases at the address of Albanians, becoming the target of criticism in his country's media as well.
During last night's meeting, wanting to highlight the idea that everyone plays football and it's no wonder Skenderbeu was presented as equal to Dinamo, Baclogue has issued an unpleasant phrase.
The time has passed when we knew Albanians for ice cream sales and candy” was his direct broadcast phrase. To this comment, there have been many reactions, while the website “portal.hr” has devoted a scripture to those words, calling it literal shovinism.

This is just chauvinism and repetition of stereotype about a nation. Moreover, he includes everyone in his comment with the word "njinim." Who are these people who recognize Albanians as such? It will include viewers, where not only many say such things but also many Albanians.
It would be interesting to learn how Balogue and his colleagues would react if a BBC sports commentator declared it was past the time when Croatians were named only waitresses who brought us refreshing drinks on the Adriatic coast and the cleaner who swept trash in our rooms. They'd be insulted and justly!
