The new school year 2017/2018 could start with some problems in Kosovo schools. This, since textbooks will be old editions, which do not match the curriculum framework expected to begin this year for the first, sixth and tenth classes, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
The content of the textbooks would have to be based on competence and ingenuity to adapt to this framework. Meanwhile, older texts fit the old curriculum that was more based on content.
With the new framework of the curriculum, it means moving from a framework that is based on content, in a framework based on competency and dexterity, in order for learning to be practical and in line with the labour market. Lacking new publications is also being viewed as a challenge by officials of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
