Kosovo public debt up

The current government these last days of governance added about 34m euros in debt to the country through two agreements it reached with the World Bank. On Wednesday, outgoing Finance Minister Avdullah Hoti signed with the World Bank credit agreements on the realisation of two projects identified as primary by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, the Project for Competitiveness and Export Readiness and Additional Financing for the Road Agriculture and Development Project.
Even these secured funds are loans Kosovo must return based on the agreement reached.
Kosovo's public debt has reached a total of about 1 billion euros, doubling almost over the past three years.
In 2014, when the government was formed “Mestafa” (December 2014), the country's overall debt was 582m euros.
Not three full years have passed, and today the total debt has reached 980m euros.
