The party, which had led the capital until 2013, is in search of a candidate who would seriously challenge Vetevendosje's Shpend Ahmeti.
And, in the debate, who should be LDK's candidate for mayor of Pristina is also included in the Rugova family.
Blerina Klokoqi-Rugova, wife of Uke Rugova, is openly supporting Ismet Beqiri's candidacy for Pristina chairman.
She has even cited several reasons why Beqiri must be the LDK candidate for the first of the capital.

I think the candidate for Pristina from the LDK ranks will be Ismet Beqiri. There are two reasons that confirm this conviction in my head: 1. After the parliamentary group's chief was elected Abdullah Hoti, Ismet remained without his duty so far. And remember, Ismet Beqiri is chairman of the Vranjevci branch that is also known as the LDK bastion, where a significant number of votes for LDK come from. 2. And the other, after the June 11th elections, seeing LV's position in the capital, hardly anyone else dares to run for Pristina's mayor, especially not those who fear failure. Presidents in the United States are usually only reconfirmed. Whatever the case, there is not much left until the LDK formalises its candidate for Pristina chairman.
