Global warming is expected to rise to over 2 degrees by the end of the 21st century, broadcast Anadolu Agency (AA).

Two researchs, which have been done independently one by one and by various methods published in “Nature Climate Change”, have noted that the world will be heated at least 2 degrees at the end of this century.

According to research conducted under Professor Adrian Raftery at the University of Washington, the possibility that global warming at the end of the century will increase between 2 and 4.9 degrees is 95 percent, while 1.5 degrees or less is 1 percent. Raftery predicted that average temperature growth will be 3.2 degrees.

Meanwhile, in the next research done by Thorsten Maurtsen from the Max Planck Meteorological Institute, where greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuels have been examined, even if people stop using fossil fuels now, the world by 2000 will warm up about 2 degrees.

Maurtsen predicted that in the event greenhouse gas emissions continue for 15 years, temperature growth could be up to 3 degrees.

Environmentalists stressed that both works were done before US President Donald Trump withdraws from the Paris Agreement.

The Paris agreement aims to limit average temperature growth to 1.5 to 2 degrees by the end of the 21st century.
