He has said in an interview for Kosova Prees that he was nominated from the central level, though he has not been paying attention to the recontinence.
Gashi has said that during his work as chairman of the Obilics municipality, a host of promises have been realised, including the establishment of the number of scholarships for students, improved lighting, increased green spaces, as well as many other infrastructure projects, where 70 roads are achieved by the end of the year.
According to him, in the Obilic municipality from post-war until 2013, capital investments have been missing a lot, but the situation has changed since he received the mandate of Obilic first. While stressing that there is still work to be done, while considering that the biggest challenge for the municipality, which currently runs it, remains the problem with KEK, respectively, implementing the law.
Asked about the big “New Kosovo” project, Gashi has indicated that the Obilic Community has been outlined too late for that, while saying they are willing to co-operate if they manage to prioritise the employment issue.
As for the problems that have been presented in the area of particular interest, Gashi estimates that the process of expropriation in that part has been prolonged, while saying it is central-level institutions that need to find a solution as quickly as possible so that Kosovo does not enter energy collapses.
According to the current chairman of the Obilic Community, Xhafer Gashi, pollution in the municipality he is running has begun to shrink, but this has not resulted in reduced the number of cancer victims. And for that, he says it is terrible that they do not have enough funds to help the affected cases, and they are often forwarded to the Ministry of Health.
He said that 20 per cent of the tanks for blasting coal are designed to return to the Communists so that a fund can be established that will support health.
All in the end, Gashi has indicated that during his mandate, many independent institutions have given positive assessments of the work of the Obilic Community, producing it as second in implementing projects.
It has indicated that thanks to commitment to the job, it has managed to raise the 5m and 91 thousand-euro budget for capital investments to 6m and 900 thousand euros, through various co-finances, from various ministries and non-governmental organisations.
