The Senate approved Donald Trump's appointment by majority of votes 92-5. Wray will take over the agency's reins, but especially investigations into Russia's role during the US presidential elections broadcast tch.
Trump named Wray after throwing out the former FBI director, James Comey, in May. The new FBI chief is considered in Washington as an independent lawyer. He served as deputy general at the helm of the Crime Division in the Department of Justice during the Bush administration.
But he also enjoys the support of Democrats as former administration General Prosecutor Obama Eric Holder.
