“I don't expect Wessel to be selected tomorrow

Isuf Zeynep, from the “Democracy Plus”, in the interactive KTV session, has said that at the August 3rd session, when the Kosovo Parliament's constitutionalisation is expected to take place, the verification of MPs should first be made, while then being turned into a vote for the Parliament's chairmanship.

He says the likelihood of this vote being passed is very small, since, according to him, “The PAN has no post-election coalition”.

I don't expect Mr. Wessel to run for the post of Speaker of the Parliament. While the PDK sees it has no numbers, it will not run Veselin for the post because it would see its weakness”, Zeynep said.

He says that in addition to Vetevendosje and LAA, which have been declared against Veselin's candidacy, neither the minority parties have claimed they will vote on Veselin as speaker of the Assembly.

Zeynep, speaking of the election procedure for the Speaker of the Parliament, says that the common mayor is elected by open votes, but through a procedure, could also pass to the secret vote.

The exit of LAA deputies from the hall during the parliament's presidential vote would not undermine the polling quo, but if VV deputies were to leave, then it would break the quorum”, Zeynep said.

Meanwhile, if PAN, as the winner of the election, fails to elect the Speaker of the Parliament up to three attempts, Zeynep said there is no constitutional interpretation of the case.

And if Wessel is not acceptable to the other parties, The PAN must run another name. But, parties should then consult for the new name, as this will be the immediate decision of PAN” says Zeynep.

“Non-Serb communities, traditionally supported in institutions PDK, and I don't think they can have a problem with them this time. However, the Serbian List will condition it, though it does not know what conditions they will have. I suppose they're going to have big conditions because they have a lot of deputies. They are crucial votes. Either they will request Association, or KSF, or any ministerial post”, he said.

However, Zeynep said she does not believe the PAN will accept any conditions presented by the Serbian List.

Speaking of possible institutional blockades, like that of past elections, Zeynep says she does not expect to have long blockades.

The greatest risk is to go back to new elections, which will have consequences because of the lack of institutions”, Zeynep thinks.
