By early next week, the new Kosovo government is expected to be established after President Hashim Thaci has called parliament Thursday and until then the pre-election coalition of Kosovo The PAN must have secured 61 votes for the establishment of the next government. Ex-KLA leaders dominated by three parties P DK, AAK and NISMA have won 39 seats and are expected to coalition with the party influenced by Belgrade, the Serbian List.
Clear Loss for Government
Besides minority representatives, the coalition is expected to back three smaller parties. However, two votes of either LDK's right Democrats or the leftist populists of Vetevendosje are also missing. In Pristina it is talked about that the two mandates were “born” with money, writes “Der Standard“. The nearby PDK sources even speak of 62 votes, which will vote on the new government.
The party leaders of LDK and VV do not want to make coalitions, while another government seems almost impossible. But it could happen that the PAN-led government fails as a result of low numbers and legitimacy.
PAN really won the largest number of votes, but U leader PDK CK, Kadri Weselini is the biggest loser of these elections, while Ramush Haradinaj's AAK has local support -- only in Dukagjin. The reason why Ramush Haradinaj has run for prime minister is a first deal many years: The Hague Tribunal has twice declared him innocent and he could become prime minister. After Thaci refused this after Haradinaj's return to 2012, then this happened in recent years with government policy having the motto: “pa me nothing is done”.
Problem image politicians
With Thaci, Kosovo has a very polarising president and everything but good image. If the small Balkan country will have even a controversial prime minister, then it will not be easy even the necessary dialogue with Serbia. Haradinaj has recently been arrested in January 2017, following the international arrest issued by Serbia. Dialogue with Serbia can win a new dynamic because President Alexander Vuciq has written an article on “Blic” that has asked Serbs not to hide their heads in the sand” and start an internal “for the Kosovo case: “we should try to be realistic and not lose or give up what is ours; but not to acquire something that we have lost for years. ”
Vuciq also offered a few weeks ago a change in the Constitution, which still presents Kosovo as an integral part of the state. This has also prevented recognition of the state of Kosovo. Kosovo's independence has been declared in 2008, while part of Serbia defactio has been until the end of the 1999 war, when Belgrade lost control. The EU tries for “abnormalisation” and access to the EU.
Vuciq simply thought that Serbs and Albanians would find a solution that would serve the region for a long time. Today's conventions should not affect future generations. Vuciq's text has been welcomed by the Kosovo side. But in fact it is still far from recognising Kosovo from Serbia. /Bota Today
