In particular, Ambassador Kevin Vickers is concerned that a mysterious spirit may be threatening Canada's official stay in Dublin.
In a recent Facebook post, the ambassador describes that he hears unusual noises, inexplicable breathing, and heavy steps in residential halls.
Vickers suggests that this may be the soul of one of Ireland's leaders in 1916.
When he first moved to the residence, the ambassador heard rumors that Irish nationalist Patrick Pearse had once lived there.
Pearse was one of the leaders of the April 1916 rebellion to overthrow British rule and establish an Irish republic.
In a rare interview. Ambassador Vickers described that rumors that the nationalist Irish leader had lived at the residence prompted him to dig.
So I wonder if he's the one walking in the corridors of this residence,” he said.
Vickers said he didn't believe in ghosts until he entered the official settlement in Ireland.
