MPs from Kosovo's sixth legislature will not submit to control in the tear gas detector when they go to the Convention Constituent session on Thursday.
That is because the Kosovo Assembly has not yet bought the detector.
KALLXO.com Parliament Secretary Ismet Krasniqi confirmed this.
“has not yet been purchased by the detector”, Krasniqi has said.
For the purchase of the tear gas detector, the government had allocated a special fund. The decision was made in March of last year.
The goal was to prevent the introduction of tear gas to the Kosovo Assembly facility.
MPs from the past opposition (Vetevendosje, AAK and the Initiative for Kosovo) throughout 2016 had used every method, including tear gas, to prevent the Assembly hearings when the Agreement for Demarketing with Montenegro and to form the majority Serbian Commission Association.
The vote on these two agreements was removed from the agenda by the ruling coalition (PDK-LDK), and after that opposition parties had not hampered the plenary sessions.
Following the collapse of the government led by Isa Mustafa, President Hashim Thaci dissolved parliament on May 10th this year and decreed holding early elections on June 11th.
MPs elected in this election will take their seats in the Assembly on Thursday, when the chairman and deputy chairman of the institution are expected to be elected.
