The United States of America is considering supply of deadly weapons to Ukraine. This was announced by US Secretary of Defense James Matisse during a visit to Kiev. Washington has also agreed on Ukrainian weapons with additional equipment worth $175m.
“As soon as we adopted the last two weeks, equipment worth $175,000,000, including a specialised device that can be used to protect the country, reaching a total of nearly $750m in recent years”, Matis said.
The American Defence Minister also pledged to support Ukraine in Crime, the region that was reunited with Russia following a referendum in 2014. Ukraine, backed by Western governments, dismissed the referendum results and imposed sanctions on Russia.
“We will not accept the seizure of the Crime, despite Russia's denials, which is demanding the reshaping of international borders by force, undermining the sovereign and free nations of Europe”, Matis told reporters.
