He follows the position, Jeronim Basen, who was rejected by Meta's predecessor, Bujar Nishani, to hold the post.
Bardhil Kolcaku, after completing the Military Academy in 1990 as a tactical intelligence officer, served as Director of the J5/8 Directorate in the General Staff before carrying out the duty of Director General for Intelligence, Security and Defence Agency (AISM) in 2015.
He has also held various positions at the Brigade Staff (Shef Intelligence), Director of the J2 Directorate and Directorate J3 in the General Staff, as well as Chief Sector at the International Co-operation Directorate, serving in other key positions in international and multinational environments.
Under NATO, his last task has been Director of the Co-ordination and Integration Division at the Alliance's Supreme Command in 2013-2014. From October 1996 to April 1997, with the colonel's then rank, Brigadier General Kolcak served as Military Monitor at the UN Mission in Georgia. (UNOMIG).
Brigadier General Kolcak, prior to being granted the current major degrees by President Meta on July 31st 2017, has attended and graduated from the US General Command and Staff College, Joint Armed Forces College, Combined Strategic Intelligence Savings at the US Military Intelligence Agency, as well as the Executive Course of European Strategic Security Studies at the <x0 John C.
