Establishment of the parliamentary majority remains the target not only of the June 11th parliamentary elections' winning coalition in Kosovo, but of the two subjects that ranked second and third in those elections.
Trusting that coalition The PAN, including the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Initiative, will fail to create the parliamentary majority, the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo with partner parties, the New Kosovo Alliance and the Alternative, say they are continuing meetings for the possibility of achieving a post-election coalition.
The Vetevendosje Movement, as the second subject to the number of seats won in the early June 11th parliamentary elections, says there is already a parliamentary majority without the winning coalition.
Dardan Sejdiu, deputy leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, told Radio Free Europe that with LDK and its partners, they are discussing the government programme and the new coalition, for a different government.
There is actually a parliamentary majority, if you look at the number of deputies holding the Vetevendosje Movement and the LAA coalition. We have 32 deputies, until the LAA coalition has 29 deputies. Which means we have 61 countries without minorities. So an Albanian majority. We are meeting and we have had two meetings so far”, Sejdiu said.
All these meetings, Sejdiu points out, are under discussion, as he says the president is not calling the constitutional session, where the election of the new Speaker of the Assembly would be made to continue with other procedures.
After restoring the new composition of the Parliament, coalition PAN, as the election winner, has 15 days of deadline for forming the new government.
But Vetevendosje is convinced that the PAN will not achieve the minimum of 61 votes for forming the Government and expects the second chance to have this political subject with LDK and partner parties.
These meetings all have the role of getting closer until we are given the second chance after the term, which comes from the PAN coalition. So we're working to have a government programme, so when we get the opportunity to have the right numbers to form the Government of Change”, Sejdiu said.
Meanwhile, Mimoza Kurasi-Lila, chairman of the political party, the alternative that is part of the coalition with the LDK, told Radio Free Europe that meetings with Vetevendosje Movement are under way.
“The option and willingness is to form this parliamentary majority, only to submit the previous procedures by law and Constitution. It means, that the opportunity is given to the winning coalition to form Government and fail that bid for the winning coalition, the president must either mandate or mandate the second winner from these elections, or the second party, Vetevendosje Movement. In that situation or scenario, only the ongoing arrangement for agreement on the governing programme has begun and then on the political level at a later phase of”, Kusari -Lila said.
Kusari-Lila stresses coalition P DK, AAK, NISMA, known as PAN, does not have sufficient numbers for forming the government. According to her, delays in calling the Parliament's constitutional hearing are the best indicators showing that the coalition is short of votes.
If they had the votes, we would have so far the constitutional assembly of the Parliament and the process of terming Mr. Haradinaj to present Government. But I guess the lack of votes and the situation we're entering is due to the lack of votes, which also shows that in any mathematics they have only 59 votes and not 61 votes that you need a minimum majority to vote on the Parliament”, said Kusari-Lila.
Otherwise, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has not yet set the date of the Kosovo Assembly's constitutionalisation, but he is expected to hold a meeting with parliamentary parties on July 24th, precisely on the date of the institution's constitutionalisation.
Earlier, the Vetevendosje Movement and the coalition of political subjects to which the Democratic League of Kosovo led have not responded positively to an invitation to discuss forming the new government -- by Kosovo's candidate for prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj, nominated by the coalition of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Initiative for Kosovo.
