Lawyer Tome Gashi, has shown exclusively about the Koha.net portal that former KLA General Sylejman Selimi, whom he defends in cases “Drenica 1 and 2”, has been sentenced to two years in prison.

In complaints by defence lawyers, the Supreme Court has decided today to drop its sentence from 10 to 8 years in prison for the former head of the KLA General Staff. The Supremei has modified Apel's previous decision, and has made the final decision by terminating Selimi with a general sentence of eight years in prison, even counting the past time in custody from 2014 onward.

Lawyer Gashi has said he will also complain about this decision.

There are still legal tools which we attorneys of Mr. Sylejman Selimi will present and request his full release”, Gashi said of Koha.net.

We remember that with the initial act by the Constitutional Court in Mitrovica, Selimi had been sentenced to 14 years in prison for cases “Drenica 1 and 2”, until a complaint of defence attorneys issued in 2016, the Court of Appeals had dropped the verdict from 14 years to 10 years in prison. And now, after partly approved defense attorneys' complaint has been issued for another two years.

Earlier, through a post in his official Facebook porphilia, lawyer Gashi has said that “Z. Selimi is declared innocent of command responsibility for points of indictment for which the Court of Appeals had convicted”.
