Secretary - General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, said today's meeting of the NATO-Russia Council has been a genuine and useful “discussion for Ukraine, Afghanistan and other issues.
Stoltenberg made these comments at a news conference in Brussels.
He also said that NATO and Russia continue to have disagreements, especially about the Moscow Crime Survey and its role in the war east of Ukraine.
At today's meeting, NATO and Russia also announced future military exercises.
NATO has suspended all practical co-operation with Russia as Moscow annexed the Crimea in 2014, but political channels have remained open through the Council.
