A repentant killer has been working with the Prosecutor for years. McCejbin Mehmeti, is part of a criminal group that has participated in murder, smuggling narcotics, robbery, thieves, murder, explosives, kidnappings.
Mehmeti, (1979), former KLA and KPS member, has been in prison since March 2004. He claims to know about at least 6 murders, three of which have political motives.
This testimony has been given to EULEX international prosecutors. Mehmet is currently in the high-security prison in Gerdovc serving a 30-year prison sentence for killing two policemen, one of them UNMIK and one of Kosovo's in a shootout near Podujevo. In this crime Mehmet has said he was a participant, but not a key one.
The chief claims it was Agron Sylejmani, killed in that incident and others who, according to him, were released with the intervention of former UNMIK deputy chief Steven Schook and one of the LPK management, Ibrahim Kelmendi.
Arrested and charged along with Mehmet at the time were Nazim Kadriu, Arben Ahmeti, Arsim Rashiti, Jeton Sylejmani, Osman Kelmendi, Florim Ejupi, Xhavit Kosumi, Faik Shaqiri, Nezir Kelmendi, Irfan Ademi, Xhafer Zymberaj and Bajram Kiqmari.
They were accused of terrorism by the UNMIK Prosecutor. All were later acquitted of charges other than the Mehmet Shumbin, who, according to evidence he gave to the prosecutor, had a handball he shot at, but no one was killed by that gun. Police officers in the investigation were killed by Kalashnikov bullets.
Mehmeti has told international prosecutors that those arrested had been released as a result of political interference. He claims he had intervened as former deputy Kosovo deputy administrator Steven Schook and Ibrahim Kelmendi directly.
The Witness had told this criminal group to join them in March 2003. At the time, he said he was on the run because police had seized a large quantity of explosives at home. I have been hanging with that group through Kosovo since then in Tirana, Durres. The group had more than 10 members, from Peja, Drenica and Lappi”, Mehmeti said.
This group has been busy with all types of crimes”.
Mehmet was a KPS cop. He had witnessed a series of investigative processes. Ser has said he was in charge of killing people who considered the country's evil, among whom even the members of the LDK.
I can't say that we've had any conversation that should protect this or that group or that party, or that we are supplied by this party or that party. But the worst anger was for the LDK persons”, he said.
Mehmeti had said that these people in politics had been told that LDK people have hampered war, is a pacifist party, and has brought the country enormous damage. He had claimed to have been manipulated by various persons who were called in the name of patriotism.
“has been a sort of high-empowered simulation against LDK people. There are people from Paya who have spoken and they have the incentive to fight these people. But not with a pencil but with other forms”, Mehmet said.

The Witness had claimed to have information on the murder of Xhemajl Mustaf, Smajl Hajdari, Tahir Zemaj, but heard from friends.
I have information, but I haven't. Fortunately, I'm not personally involved in any political murder”, he said.
Mehmet had said that they were always together and have often talked about these crimes. Mehmeti has said he has information about at least six murders, kidnappings, rockets, blackmail, narcotics trade. Besides, he said there were funders like the Peja brewery, which was then under the control of businessman Agim Elshani.
His son was led by Agim Elshani. We've been shopping with Ibrahim Kelmendi because he was part of the group before, but then there was a breach between us and him and we're separated. Ibrahim Kelmendi is attracted to the brewery, and we have received an answer in”.
Mehmeti had explained that the group had money from various sources. In addition to financing from beer and Tekila's representative, other forms have been tribute, payment, and narcotics trading. He said that when someone couldn't borrow a debt, they went and pulled it out.
The percentage said it changed depending on the amount. He mentioned the kidnapping of a young man in whom he said there were many. He said that the scientist was Chermendi. For this kidnapping they were arrested and convicted Driton Sylejmani, Arton Sylejmani, the Haziri Union, and him.
This was the 2003 kidnapping of Valon Dressaj. He asked you for two million euros”, he said.
Mehmet had said that in 2003 the case had been uncovered, but he had been on the run until 2004. He said it was discovered when his police gun was found.
Driton Sylejmani has issued a statement that if I am in charge. He's in court. It's not a statement, and I've been convicted in a separate process for 12 years, and after the proclamation of a unique sentence I've been given 30 years”, he said.
Mehmet had said that besides him and three others sentenced to between 3 and five years in prison, the others had never been arrested.
And in this case, I was named chief because I didn't speak”, he said.
The Witness had said that the leader had Agron Sylejmani. He added that they had contacts with other criminal groups in every city in Kosovo.
Mehmet from Podujevo has been a member of the KLA. Most of the time he served in the Llap area. One time, he was a member of the Diversant Supervisor unit... the Klecca-based Arberi... under the command of Tahir Sinan near the General Staff. After the 2001-03 war, he was a KPS member. In 2003 he was away from the police and joined a criminal group that he had contact with earlier. With this group, he has said he has collaborated until April 2004, when he was arrested. He's been in jail ever since. /Insider. com
