Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh bin Abdurrahman Al-Thani said his country would reject the demands that have been submitted to Doha by the four Arab states, the Anadolu Agency (AA) reports.
“Katar will reject the list of 13 requests, compiled by Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and the key Bahrain to restore diplomatic relations with Dohan. These demands are not in accordance with international law and Qatar's right to sovereignty”, Al-Thani said before journalists in Rome.
Qatari has received a list of requests from Saudi Arabia last Saturday, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt, 18 days after breaking diplomatic relations with this country and imposing an embargo on it.
Media report that the request, among other things, has to do with closing the media network Al Jazeera, breaking ties with Iran, closing the Turkish military base in the country and extraditing “terrorists”.
These countries have asked Doha to meet their demands within 10 days.
Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (EBA), Egypt, Bahrain and Yemen, on 5 June announced the break of all diplomatic ties with Qatar, which they accuse of destabilising the region. While the Qatar government has completely rejected all claims made to support terrorism.
Qatar claims the charges are groundless and hinder the calm solution to the crisis.
