Russia's President Vladimir Putin has said he has not yet decided whether to run again in the March 2018 presidential election, according to the Russian media.
Putin is expected to win another mandate with a majority of votes, but he has said that “still has time to decide”.
I have not yet decided whether to continue working on this” position, Putin is quoted as saying according to the Russian news agency TASS.
I'll see. The elections will be held in 2018. There's still time to think”, add Putin away.
Putin remains very popular in Russia and currently does not have any political figure that has enough power to consider him competitive in the elections. Putin is quoted as saying he will not seek a change of the presidential law, which envisions two consecutive six-year terms.
Putin has become president of Russia, for the first time in 2000.
In 2008, Putin changed his positions with Dmitry Medvedev, though he was considered to be making decisions. Putin returned to the president's position in 2012.
