The Public Prosecutor in Macedonia gave the final word for the indictment against the Kumanovo group. The work remains the same, terrorism and terrorist organization.

Prosecutor Naum Panovski argued with the group's intention to feel fear and uncertainty among citizens.

Panovski estimated that the penalty measure should be appointed by the court.

: From the actions that they have taken I propose that the accused be found guilty and that the same be pronounced guilty in compliance with the law. The prison measure to appoint the trial panel”, said Naum Panovski, the prosecutor.

Defence lawyers disagree with the assessment. Terrorism is not a premonitional act, and the prosecution should ask who first fired, armed group or police.

Lawyers also deny speculation that at last session, the Public Prosecutor has sought life sentence for the accused.

“E saw even today that the Public Prosecutor did not seek life sentence for any accused, but proposed that the trial be found guilty and sentenced by law”, said Lubco Veselinovski, the lawyer.

Lawyers also object to the assessment of terrorist organisations. According to them, if the Public Prosecutor has estimated that the accused belong to the National Liberation Army, then international estimates should be taken into account that the KLA has not acted as a terrorist organisation and that the adequate qualifications would be the one under Article 123 of the Penal Code.

Penal Code Article 123, paragraph 2 points 7

“With a ten-year sentence or life sentence will be punished as one who: I will take life from the judge, the public prosecutor, or the lawyer during the duty, the official or military person during the duty of public or state security, or during the duty of preserving public order, the capture of the author or the preservation of the person who is deprived of freedom”.

At the upcoming defence session, the defence will refer to the controversy and precision of the indictment. Thirty-seven people are charged with fighting May 9th and May 10, 2015, in Kumanovo. At that time, eight members of the police and 10 members of the armed group were victimised.
