Greek media report that the quake was in magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale. The quake's epicentre was in the maritime area between the island of Kos and Bodrum in Turkey.
A few minutes later, about 20:59, a second lighter quake of 3.2 struck the island again. Earthquakes were felt on the Greek island and on the Turkish coast. Fortunately, there are no reports of harm or material damage.
Several days ago, a strong earthquake struck the island of Kos in Greece and Bodrum in Turkey, causing two people dead and about 100 injured.
