Today, six years from police action in the north, without results

Today it has been six years since then Prime Minister Hashim Thaci's decision, the Kosovo Special Police Unit had entered the north to take control of the two border points at Jarinje and Brnjak, and to return sovereignty to that part of the country, where police officer Enver Zymber was killed. Yet, even [...]

However, even after that time complete sovereignty has not yet been restored, as soon after that action many roads were blocked with barricades, while the safety of the movement still remains fragile.

Until, by the heads of state this action is seen as the union of Kosovo, those of political parties call this act reckless and politically-avanturesk.

On this anniversary, meanwhile, Kosovo Police have predicted that on July 26th, they will hold several activities to honour the late police officer Enver Zymber.

In a written reply, the spokesman PK's Daut Hoxha told Kosova Prees, that the activities for this date will not be missed.

Kosovo's “Police, as well as other times in honour of the 6th anniversary of Kosovo Hero's fall, Enver Zymberi, will develop its activities to honour and commemorate his work and heroism”, Hoxha said.

State head Hashim Thaci, who was then prime minister of the country through the social Facebook network, called July 25th the day of Kosovo's union.

On every July 25th, we proudly remember the hero of independence, Enver Zymber. He heroicly fell in charge, defending the constitutionality and sovereignty of our state. The Kosovo Police Special Units took control of border points 1 and 31, and this was also Union of Kosovo Day. Enver will always be remembered for the courage proved in protecting the Republic of Kosovo”, Thaci wrote.

But, as President Thaci, the social network Facebook had also chosen Vetevendosje candidate Albin Kurti to commemorate the July 25th action, saying then Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, who started the action in the north and therefore interrupted it, thus abandoning the Zymber issue, surrendering to criminals and not finding the culprits.

“Six years ago, on July 25th 2011, Kosovo Police Officer Enver Zymber was killed at the helm. Enver Zymber was a member of special forces. He was killed in an action aimed at establishing rule of law in the north of our country. The circumstances of Enver Zymber's murder, as well as the author or authors of his murder, are still unknown today. The then prime minister, Thaci, discontinued the action on establishing order and law in the north of our country, even though he has said big words. He also left the Zymber case, surrendering to criminals and not finding the guilty”, Kurti wrote on his Facebook account.

While Rexhep Selimi the deputy of Vetevendosje in the next legislature has called this action political-amastorsk.

“Today, there are six years of police action by the then-Kosovo government in the country's north. The head of the then government was promoted as a successful action in extending the country's sovereignty to the northern municipalities of the country, which, even today, were out of control of the state of Kosovo. As it was seen then, and as the then minister of interior and prime minister admitted, the action was unthinking, without an operational plan and without the necessary means for the realisation of a” police action, Selimi wrote.

Selimi has even called this action an adventuresk, who took the life of a police officer.

This politico-avanturesk action turned out to be fatal for the life of a police officer and for sovereignty and territorial integrity in the northern part of the country. On that day, a political adventure by the then prime minister is dedicated to Kosovo Police Officer Enver Zymber and Kosovo cost him even more emphasis than it was. Therefore, today, six years later, in light of the actions that occurred from the establishment of barricades in 2011 to conspiring with the bridge wall of Ibri and the Russian “treet, it is finding that all that happened there was the failure of the police and the state of Kosovo”, he has written on it.

However, according to Selimi, on this date, they remember with respect and appreciate the sacrifice of each Kosovo policeman was willing to stand up for the country, the constitution and the law.
