The mayor resigns, but still uses the official municipality car

.
The LDK's ambassador to the Municipal Assembly of Decani, Hydije Dobrunaj, when she spoke of KALLXO.com, warned a complaint at the Ministry of Management of Local Power, as in her opinion Rasim Selmanaj is using the mayor's car and the competencies and privileges that allow this position, even after the resignation notice.
“We, as opposition, will file a complaint with the Minister of Local Power Management to stop his” operation, LDK municipal adviser in Decan told KALLXO.com.
On 5 July, Selmanaj, who has been elected coalition deputy PAN indicated on Facebook that it is scheduled to go to the Kosovo Assembly, while announcing the withdrawal from the position of Decani chairman, thanking citizens and collaborators.
Adviser Hyie Dobrunaj said that after Selmanaj warned the resignation, she has no right to use the official car and other competencies of the mayor.
He (Rasim Selmanaj) is still using the official mayor's car. Besides, he's using other powers. He has no right to use his car after withdrawing from the mayor, nor to share gratitude, nor to make appointments at the mayor's office. His competencies have been passed on to the municipality's deputy chairman with the Law on Local Self-government”, Dobrunaj said.
Selmanaj did not deny that he is using the president's car and other competencies, while showing that he will resign at the moment he is sworn in the Parliament as an MP.
“The CEC has asked me to declare it legal to retain the position of deputy, or mayor. I have been declared MP, but I have not yet resigned. The resignation occurs the day the betohna in parliament, from that moment on I am no longer president. The day I swear to parliament, I deliver my car, as well as a letter”, Selmanaj told KALLXO.com.
KA LLXO.com also requested explanation from the Ministry of Local Power Management if Selmanaj has the right to use his car and other competencies after announcing his resignation from the position of Decani chairman.
The Ministry of Local Power Management Public Communications Division has responded to this request with the sending of a letter that has gone to the mayors and heads of municipal assembly in connection with respect to local self-government laws, local elections and civil service.
The letter reportedly says the mayors of municipalities who are scheduled to hold the MP's position should resign after the certificate of election results.
“When the chairman or other officials decide to keep the MP's position in the Republic of Kosovo's Assembly after the certificate of election results should resign from the position of the mayor of the municipality, respectively, the other positions held in the municipality”, the MAPL letter reported.
The Central Election Commission certified the results of the June 11th elections on July 7th, while in them Rasim Selmanaj received 9844 votes, ranking 31st on the PAN MP list.
The ministry further clarified that until holding local elections scheduled for October 22nd, the resigned chairman replaces the municipality's deputy mayor.
