The Democratic League of Kosovo in Pristina's Municipal Assembly has expressed their positions on whether this political subject will support granting permission to build New Mosque in Pristina.
Agim Gashi asamblist from the Democratic League of Kosovo has said this party would support the construction of this mosque if that mosque only serves as a religious cult, but not if it is transformed into a commercial centre or the Islamic Cultural Centre.
“E knows that the location centre is divided for the construction of the mosque and not for the construction of commercial centres or the Islamic Cultural Centre if it is respected, the purpose of the Islamic Community for building the mosque is to build and build, but if it is turned into cultural or commercial center we are against, but no one asks us because this issue belongs to the municipal government”, he has told Inseder.
Gashi has said that if BIK misuse that object and uses it for business or the Islamic Cultural Centre will not have support from the LDK.
“BIK had initially said that they would build, not shopping or cultural centers, but just a cult for a mosque. If they misuse it and exploit it for businesses or an Islamic cultural centre as they have called it earlier, even though nobody asks us, but I know that even the LDK supports this stance”, he said.
He further said there is information that at the upcoming municipal session, he will be introduced by the mayor of the Pristina municipality, but there are no other information.
“E know that the next session the mayor of the municipality will present the construction of this mosque but we are not given any more details now in the data of the permit version is an executive issue in no way can the asamists decide”, Gashi said.
Gashi has stated that he would personally object to the vote at the time he was voted by the Asganists to divide the location of this mosque.
I am personally against it when it was voted I was in the executives, but if I were in Asamblist I wouldn't vote on it I'm saying this as Agim, not as LDK”, Gashi has declared.
