Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavor has said Washington's proposal for co-operation in Syria is “opened in the right direction”, adding that additional information is needed about the US proposal “for the creation of no-fly zones”.
We haven't received any answers to what was envisioned in the “the creation of no-fly zones: ”, since we haven't talked about this matter before”, Lavrov said during a visit to Paris.
Russia is pushing ahead a plan with Iran and Turkey to create four secure “ions, in which air strikes are banned.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said that America “is ready for the possibility of establishing any agreement with Russia to ensure stability, including the no-fly areas”.
Tillerson made these statements prior to the first meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, who will be held today in the margin of the G20 summit in Hamburg.
