On the show “Arena” with journalist Diritian Hila, Kurti said they have proposed a developmental bank that will protect domestic production.
We've proposed to have a developmental bank which is linked to the Republic Assembly, which will have interest below 3% by many years. The bank will be with a link to the protection of domestic production, as well as with the prioritizing of local companies in public tendering. The development bank would have an apartheia leadership and this bank would combine with a developmental agency. We need a development agency. At the same time, we would have a sovereign fund that would be a major shareholder in public and social enterprises, so public companies would be brought out of the government, social companies would get them out of the Kosovo privatisation agency that would be gone and the sovereign fund would have a boss with a seven-year apartary mandate, with a supervisory board that would report the Parliament and would lure investment into the country. Kosovo's pension savings fund is over 1.5 md euros, only 3.2% is invested in the country, nearly 97 % this money is located abroad. The Development Bank, the sovereign fund and the development agency would boost the country's development by creating the possibility that our license would invest in Kosovo”, Kurti explained.
