This security facility has shown that they are willing to do so.
Kosovo police are ready to launch arrests on people who will be charged by the Special Court, whenever asked to do so.
Daut Hoxha, spokesman at the Kosovo Police, has indicated they are ready to carry out arrests that will be sought by the Special Court.
Kosovo's “Police are the main institution of law enforcement. Police tasks and authorisations are clearly defined by law and Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo”, Hoxha has said.
He has also suggested that Kosovo police have good co-operation with local and international mechanisms, so there is no other option but security and law enforcement.
Kosovo's “Police have good co-operation with all institutions and other mechanisms like local and international ones, so any action or legal commitment that is related to security and implementation of legitimacy in the country has no alternative”, he has told Express.
Special Court Chairman Ecatarita Trendafilova, in an interview published Thursday, has said that Kosovo police will handle the arrest and conduct of fugitives from these specialised rooms.
She has stressed that such a thing is regulated by law, but that if necessary, the Special Court may also require international co-operation.
As envisioned in the Law, we can rely on the Kosovo Police as well as any Kosovo court. Also, the Specialised Prosecutor may apply his orders through a police force within his office. Any order and decision of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers, including sequential checks and arrests of suspects on Kosovo territory, must be implemented. The Law dictates this. Also, if necessary, we can seek international co-operation”, the head of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers, Ekataria Trendafilova, has declared.
