KLA veterans love pensions, don't care about losing 16m euros

The Republic of Kosovo will lose 16m euros in loans from the International Monetary Fund, as an economic agreement with the Fund ends on 4 August. Diplomatic sources have indicated that all this has happened after the Government of Kosovo has failed to convince the International Monetary Fund that part of their funds [...]
But, Hysni Gucati, chairman of the KLA Veterans Association, says this whole situation has been made because of the Government of Kosovo, and Isa Mustafa.
According to him, they have now neglected the Law for veterans and their classification for months.
The government is guilty of this created situation. We've told them how many months the law is made and the classification is made. This has been too neglected, and now we're in this situation. If there were laws and categories, that would not happen. The category of veterans is salvation for the Government of Kosovo”, Gucati has said.
He has indicated that the Government is obliged to fulfill its obligations to KLA veterans, regardless of what happens to the IMF.
We don't care much about this. We're not to blame for breaking these deals. The government is to blame and she must now find the money to pay for veterans' pensions. If that doesn't happen, we can take steps. I don't like to go out on the street and protest, but we don't avoid this action. There could be a protest if there are” pensions, he says.
Gucati has indicated that currently 31,700 KLA veterans are registered.
Meanwhile, Kosovo institutions officials during Friday have acknowledged that the IMF has interrupted this agreement.
Agim Krasniqi, deputy minister of finance in Kosovo's outgoing government, has said this agreement cannot be continued and negotiated for new programmes without the formation of the new government.
“About 16m euros cannot be taken credit. The IMF mission was due to come in June. But because of the elections it has not come. Without the fourth review of the deal, these loans cannot be obtained”, he said about REL Krasniqi.
Krasniqi, meanwhile, says that Kosovo's refusal in IMF programmes loses the credibility of the Republic of Kosovo to other international financial institutions and international investors.
Our country, the last loan from the IMF, benefited in 2015, worth about 185m euros, divided into three phases, which ends in a week.
Kosovo the IMF has joined June 2009 and has since been estimated to have benefited over 400m euros through loans.
The IMF had criticised state leaders that 60m euros for this category of veterans were earmarked in the budget, while expenditures according to their registration lists could total as much as 100m.
