But Kosovo Judiciary Council officials show how much the figure would be offered as compensation to Lushtak for the period he has spent in custody.

The Director of the Legal Department at the KRC and Secretary of the Commission for Elimination of Harm, Astrit Hoti, has told “Arbres.info” that the Council has not yet received any request from Lushtaku, and that it does not know the exact period of his stay in custody, but that his compensation will be done by law.

“inform you that we still do not have the demand for damage compensation and do not know how long Lushtaku” has stayed in custody, Hoti said.

He has shown how much it could be to compensate for the former commander of the Drenica area for each day spent in custody, including material damages, lawyers, sessions and family visits during this period.

“As far as compensation is concerned, the criteria determine that for a day staying in custody for material damage is 9 euros. For no material damage, 6 euros per month, 50 euros in packages and family visits, while 120 euros per lawyer. 60 request and 60 for session”, Hoti expressed.

Lushtaku's son Mergim Lushtaku said that they have not yet considered the matter.

We don't want to talk about this case once. We haven't had the moment to discuss this matter once, since we've had people to visit, so once we calm down and wait for guests who are coming to visit us then as normal as to how we're going to reflect”, Lushtaku was expressed.
While Sami Lushtaku's defender, lawyer Arian Koci, said nothing could compensate for the time of four years his client has spent in custody.

Otherwise, Sami Lushtaku was released two days ago following the Supreme Court's decision to declare him innocent.

The head of the Skokyright municipality, Sami Lushtaku, was sentenced by the Constitutional Court in Mitrovica in May 2015 to 12 years in prison for the murder charge. But in November 2016, the Court of Appeals declared him innocent of criminal acts “the murder of an Albanian civilian person imprisoned”, removing 12 years in prison for which he was sentenced by the Constitutional Court in Mitrovica.

Apel, sentenced Lushtak to 7 years in prison for the criminal work of war crimes against the civilian population, which has been linked to the Commission responsibility”, from which the prosecution was previously released by the Constitutional Court of Mitrovica.
