A survey by Afghan media has said at least 10 journalists were killed in Afghanistan in the first half of 2017, marking a 35 - percent increase from last year.
The Afghan Committee for the Security of Journalists (AJSC), independent observer, has announced through a report published today that the Taliban and the extremist Islamic State group are responsible for most of the “dic and indirect attacks, towards media workers in Afghanistan.
“in the first six months of 2017, 73 cases of violence against journalists, including 10 cases of murder, later 19 cases of beatings and another 12 have been cases of hurt”, is said further in the report.
The rebel subservations threaten journalists in the provinces, carry out autocensages, reporting or what they want or closing their channels”, said Afghan Committee for Journalists Security Director Najib Sharif.
According to this Committee, 2016 was the bloodiest year for journalists in Afghanistan, as at least 13 media workers were killed, 10 of them by the Taliban.
