Italy is in a state of emergency due to fires that have declined, especially in the south of the country. In the Kalabria region, two people died because of fire.
The situation remains alarming on Mount Vesuvius, where military intervention to control the flames has taken place. The situation also appears critical in Sicily, Sardinia, and Pula. Emergency teams are also working intensively from the air to extinguish the flames.
France has also come to the aid of firefighters, making aircraft available for emissions. Italian authorities report that during just one month the same area has been burned all over 2016.
