“The Islamic State” is becoming more and more, women from Germany, among them German girls converted to Islam.
More and more radicalised Muslims from Germany go to war zones in Iraq and Syria to join Islamic terrorist organisations such as “Islamic State” (IS). One of five people who have gone to these areas is women, writes Deutsche Welle.
German authorities have resumed investigations into a 16-year-old girl, Linda W., who had gone to Turkey a year earlier with the goal of going from there to Syria or Iraq, but later lost her track. The 16-year-old was recently arrested in Mosul, Iraq, and the prosecution has again opened its case for links to organisations targeting criminal acts that endanger the state.
Unlike boys who often provoke and are confrontational, the radicalization of girls goes without a fuss.
Sixteen-year-old Linda W. sheds light on the radicalisation of girls from Germany. The Council Office for Radiation of the Federal Ent for Migration and Refugees reports for several months a strong increase in the number of consultations in which it is intended to promote girls through religion to radicalise.
Girls radicalize without fuss
According to Michael Kiefer from the Institute of Islamic Theology at the University of Osnabrück, among girls who have radicalized have also had 13-year-olds. The age limit of radicalisation cases is decreasing further. And unlike the boys who often provoke and are confrontational, radicalizing girls becomes without fuss and silence. The Kiefer expert talks about a “radication in children's rooms”.
