Negumbo in a statement to the Anadolu Agency showed the process of transition from Christian religion to Muslim.

He said his relations with the Muslim family have grown over time. Negumbo says his interest in Islamic religion grew after the Nigerian family told him that there is only one God and he can pray everywhere, you don't need to go to church in front of statues”
Negombo says he has been notified of Islam when there was a very small number of Muslims in Namibia and since the first years he has not received reactions from his family or relatives, but that after choosing to become a Muslim he has begun to pay more attention to his behavior.
Negumbo, who has 24 brothers and sisters from his father with two wives, says that 2 of his brothers have chosen Islam and that he believes that his parents will one day choose this religion.
It was forbidden to become a Muslim until 1990
The imam Negumbo further noted that even the country's first sanctuary was built after the country's independence and that until this time Muslims were subjected to great pressure.
After independence, it says that the number of Muslims has increased in this country and that about 3 thousand Muslims now live here.
Making it known that together with the Turkish Agency for Co-operation and Co-ordination (TIKA), which is active in Namibia, they are developing joint projects, Negumbo says TIKA has built the place where the washing of the dead in the Central Mosque in Windhoek and that they continue to develop numerous other projects.
Negumbo says last year with the help of Turkish Diaries have distributed the aid and meat of offerings. “In time we know Turkey better, while they too are getting to know us better. Thus the proximity of us is growing. We will develop more projects with the Turkish and KIKA”, he said.
