With a joint decision by the Ministry of Justice and Health, Greece has opened the way for importing approved drugs and cannabis products for medical use. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras himself made the announcement during a visit to the Ministry of Health, referring to the legalisation of the medical cannabis, an initiative according to him that will have positive results both in terms of treatment of diseases and investments, Tch writes.
According to him, this ruling allows for the introduction of cannabis-based pharmaceutical drugs for cases that have proved clinical benefits for a variety of diseases such as chronic pain, neuropathic pain, digestive disorders due to chemotherapy, anorexia, etc.
The implementation of this decision requires a number of other administrative procedures, which will help patients access these types of drugs directly and without wasting time.
In Greece for years thousands of patients who could not legally obtain medical cannabis drugs tried to find them illegally.
