The French Parliament approved today a six-time extension of the state of emergency until November 1st, when a very controversial law that will replace this provision is expected to be voted.
After the Senate on Tuesday, the National Assembly approved this new extension with 137 votes for and 13 against, the AFP reports.
In force since the November 13, 2015, (130 dead and more than 350 wounded, this regime marks a record since the period of the Algeria war when it was created, the state of emergency had to end on July 15th.
This regime allows, without the preliminary approval of a judge, to be given house arrest, to control residences, to stop manifestations, to check identities, luggage and vehicles, and to close collection sites.
